North by North Kick Ass

General Jaap Stam is a bad bad man, he’s stolen a mythical beast which will give him unlimited powers unless the Mata Hari can stop him. A dazzling display of high kicks, power punches and killer karate chops make light work of his entire army but can she find the mythical creature in time?

A great series of fight where Mata show her superiority and skill.
If you like Mata as me, you must see.
    Awesome.

OK, I admit it. I’m totally in love with Mata Hari. I mean, every Kandygirl is awesome to watch in action, but Mata Hari is awesome to watch anytime. Whether she speaks, smiles, shakes her hair, or just walks (ah yes… her WALK!), she’s always pure poetry in motion, a dream come true. In fact, my only complaint about this site is that she doesn’t appear in every movie… :)
BUT she is more than prominently featured in this little gem, where she single-handedly destroys a bunch of bad guys. The movie is interesting because aside from the usual action, it also contains some nice gags and humorous conversations, and some great characters. (General Jaap Stam is truly a sight to behold…)
The action is nice, especially the scene where Mata beats up a guy using only her legs (at the poor guy’s request)), but I’m not entirely satisfied because there are relatively few kicks compared to the punches. In this regard, the previous Mata Hari movies (like the Kick Ass Ultimatum or Dancing by Kick Ass) were perhaps better.
Still, I find in impossible to give anything but the highest rating to any Mata Hari movie – and, after watching them, perhaps you’ll agree, too! :)

    One word: Wow.
I ended up feeling sorry for General Jaap Stam, he never stood a chance. The one consolation, I suppose, would be that if a secret agent is going to single-handedly take out your entire base and steal your most prized possession, then you’d want that agent to be Mata Hari. Choose whatever superlative you like for this lady, it won’t do her justice. Brimming with an arrogant confidence, Mata gracefully dispatches the guards one by one (or sometimes two) with a blinding display of kicks and punches, and she even employs the occasional ju-jitsu move. She does it with attitude too. I loved her evident delight when the six and a half foot guard, having been given the option of limiting Mata to punches or kicks, chose the latter: Apparently Mata Hari could hardly believe that it was going to be so easy!
Aesthetes will appreciate the dance artistry (as well as the martial artistry), while the action soundtrack ramps up expectations as Mata Hari defiantly enters the General’s den, and, as well as the action, there are sequences with deliberately understated humour which will probably make you smile. The supporting cast deserve credit for that.
So, excellent marks all round. I can finally recommend a clip featuring Robbie Williams.
